Maintaining Optimal Performance during Challenging Times

Times like these call for maintaining and streamlining your ability to consistently show up and perform at your highest levels, day in and day out. It’s easy to say, but often difficult to execute.
The magic bullet is in sustainability.
This means creating routines and daily rituals that are sustainable and enable you to be consistent.
The three pillars of high level performance are:
Superior Mindset
Superior Biochemistry
Superior Physicality
Tools:
Mindset
-
Optimism – taking the broader view, stepping back to see the larger picture
-
Redirect – Revisiting your mission statement daily or even hourly whenever you find yourself in limited or negative thinking; remind yourself why you are doing what you are doing.
-
Solution Oriented – Nonlinear vs. linear thinking: tap into the nonlinear domain of thought where all creativity and innovation originate. Doing this will enable you to come up with the ‘idea’ that could change everything.
Biochemistry
-
High alkaline diet – very simple, eat plenty of greens.
-
Hydration – very simple, drink plenty of water.
-
Herbs and Supplements – maintain your immune system by taking extra supplements like echinecea, elderberry, selenium, and zinc.
Physicality
-
Do not stagnate – Once every hour or two, get up from your laptop and stretch out. Go outside, and get some fresh air.
-
Daily exercise – Create a mini, in-home workout routine that you can do every day to keep your biochemistry streamlined.
-
Stay Flexible – Try to stretch yourself out every day. This will keep blood and oxygen running through your entire body and help to keep your nervous system functioning optimally.
The Integration
You integrate all of these tools and tactics by creating a daily routine that you can execute at the same time every day.
The 3 Routines:
Morning Routine – the rituals, visualizations, and inception point of your day.
Supplement Routine – the herbs and supplements and vitamins you take to keep your biochemistry in peak performance.
Exercise Routine – The exercise routine that you have in place to perform throughout the day at key intervals to keep you in the best possible physical condition.
The Execution
Wake up in the morning and begin with visualizing how you want your day to go. Follow it up with some things that you are grateful for. Then, perhaps engage with a 10 minute meditation to transcend the linear mind and tap into the nonlinear.
Next, move to your supplement regimen and take all of the necessary nutrients to help your body strong during challenging times or any others.
Finally, your exercise routine: create an exercise routine that you can perform 1-3 times/day. My own personal is 30 crunches, 20 pushups, and 30 squats x 3. This means that I perform this as a circuit and do them all three times through. However, because I hike in the mountains almost daily, I will not do squats throughout the day as I don’t want to burn out my legs.
Meanwhile, throughout the day, any time you find yourself in negative or limited thinking, take a step back. First, remind yourself of your mission statement: why am I doing what I do? Second, take a step back, see the larger picture. Where do you want to be two years from now? Third, remember, there is always an answer to every problem. This is where the nonlinear domain of thought comes into play. Transcend the linear thinking mind in lieu of that of the nonlinear. Allow yourself to receive this level of thought.
Here’s to your vitality and abundance!
